'Kantite' is a coffee washing station managed by Daye Bensa, who own and run their own farm alongside several washing stations in Sidamo.
Sidamo covers a large area in Southern Ethiopia spreading through the fertile highlands south from Lake Awasa in the Rift Valley. It is made up of over 20 different localities, or ‘woredas’, with varying microclimates and altitudes; accordingly, there is a big variety of both grades and cup profiles that end up labeled as Sidamo.
Kantite process coffee cherry from around 1200 farmers who deliver to the station daily during peak harvest. This washed lot has been chosen from the top scoring selections of the 2020 harvest.
