Introducing El Camino, the first coffee we have sourced from Bolivia - an origin with challenging conditions, but incredible potential for speciality coffee.

Our tasting notes: Pineapple and pear. The natural processing brings a wonderfully zingy mix of citrus acidity and raw cocoa.

El Camino is the first coffee we have sourced from Bolivia, an origin with challenging conditions but incredible potential for speciality coffee. Despite this potential, Bolivia is a relatively small-scale coffee producer where it is difficult to find any quantity of speciality grade coffee.

The majority is grown in the Yungas region, on the eastern side of the Andes - it’s the highest place in the World where coffee grows. Within Yungas, Caranavi is known as the capital of coffee; it’s from this town that the famously treacherous route ‘El Camino de la Muerte’ connects Bolivia’s exports to La Paz and the wider world. El Camino follows the Andes Mountains from the dry Altiplano to the lush green forest of the Amazon jungle.

El Camino was sourced through the Agricafe Co-operative as part of their ‘Sol de Mañana’ program, helping and supporting farmers through education programs and quality improvements. Sol de Mañana work with around 100 small scale producers, with most farmers tending between 3 and 8 hectares of land.
