Honduras El Triunfo

Luis Molina is the proud owner of El Triunfo - 'the triumph'; a small holding in Las Pacayas, the coffee growing area above the town of Corquin in Western Honduras.

After harvest this micro-lot was carefully prepared at the Aruco mill. As a founding member of the Aruco co-op, Luis plays an important role in developing quality and innovation there, his dedication shines through in this coffee.

This lot is a natural that’s been macerated for 90 hours before drying on raised beds for around 30 days, during the drying stage the coffee is turned hourly.

Our tasting Notes: Dried fig and cherry with dark chocolate and maple on the finish. Medium bodied with great sweetness.

 

 

Over the past few years we’ve been in contact with a group of growers in Copan, western Honduras; these producers are part of the Aruco co-operative, based in Corquin. 

Having tasted samples from Aruco for the last two seasons we knew they had a quality focus, with a particular emphasis on micro-lot production. The coffees were very good and improving every year so in March 2022 we were lucky enough to have a chance to visit Honduras and find out more about this relative newcomer to the speciality coffee scene for ourselves.
