Great altitude, careful picking and meticulous processing - all combining to deliver an incredibly fruity, complex and sweet coffee …

Arbegona is a micro-lot from Sidama, in the southern part of the country. Sourced through our partners in Ethiopia, Daye Bensa. A community focused enterprise that was started in 1997 by two brothers - Assefa and Mulugeta Dukamo.

Much loved for their rich and fruity notes, the popularity of high-quality Ethiopian naturals never wanes.

Our tasting notes:

With notes of forest fruit, blueberry and cream this is a fruity cup! Sweet and balanced with lots of complexity - a truly fantastic Ethiopian natural!

As well as running their own farms, wet mills and dry mills they have been incredibly important ambassadors for Ethiopian speciality coffee, building a business that supports over 2500 small scale farmers.

The name Arbegona refers to the area where this coffee was grown; Daya Bensa have a washing station here where farmers can deliver cherry and receive technical support and training.  The cherry for this coffee was shade-dried on raised beds under the forest canopy for around 25 days, during this time the harvest is hand-turned every 15 minutes to ensure even drying and consistent quality.
